Saturdays 1pm-3pm in Belfair, WA
Saturday Sensory Story
Children and their grown-ups move through a sensory story together — big and physical at the start, quiet and settled by the end. For any family raising a child aged 2-6 who experiences the world a little differently.
What Happens:
The Sensory Arc
-
Children are encouraged to jump into play inside or outside.
-
Children will be invited to spin, stomp, push and pull.
-
We start to find movements that are a little slower. We slow our bodies and breathing down.
-
Children do gentle stretches and end in a short meditation.
-
We end with a short song and say our goodbyes.
Your role
What we ask of caregivers
During the active parts
Follow your child's lead. Match their energy rather than dampening it. Their intensity is welcome here.
During the wind-down
Slow your own body first — your nervous system is the signal. Don't try to make them be still. Just be still near them and let them coregulate with you.
When things get hard
You don't have to fix it. Jana will come alongside. The session continues around you. Nobody will judge you. Dysregulation here is part of the process, not a failure.
For new families
The first session often looks like chaos — your child may not follow the story at all. That's fine, they are learning.
