Mossy Puddle Preschool

Mossy Puddle is a licensed, nature-based preschool in Belfair, WA, offering full-day and part-time care for children ages 30 months to 6 years. Inspired by Waldorf and forest-school traditions, our days are filled with outdoor play, baking, crafting, storytelling, and music—all designed to nurture curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

We maintain a low 1:6 adult-to-child ratio to ensure every child receives individualized attention. Mossy Puddle welcomes children of all abilities and backgrounds, providing a warm, inclusive environment where each child is seen, supported, and celebrated.

What does inclusion mean?

Inclusion means every child is valued, supported, and given what they need to thrive. We strive to accommodate each child so they feel secure, understood, and able to grow at their own pace.

At Mossy Puddle, experienced caregivers provide individualized support with patience, warmth, and insight. This includes sensory-friendly spaces, communication support, and a flexible approach that honors each child’s unique way of learning and being.

Children of all abilities and neurotypes play and learn together in a community built on respect, kindness, and trust. Most of all, inclusion means every child truly belongs—just as they are.

Tucked away on five quiet acres, Mossy Puddle offers a warm, home-based preschool and childcare setting where children can explore, play, and grow. We spend our days outdoors—rain or shine—with a mud kitchen, garden beds, and open fields that encourage digging, running, and discovery.

Inside, our cozy licensed space features a bright playroom with a built-in structure, inviting areas for storytelling and imaginative play, and thoughtful touches that help every child feel at home.
