Mossy Puddle is a licensed, full-day preschool in Belfair for children ages 2 to 6. Small groups, low ratios, and time outside every day, whatever the weather is doing.
We don't rush children. Some need more support, some need more time, and some need a different kind of setting than the one they've been in. All of that is welcome here. We accept subsidies.

What makes us different
Mossy Puddle is a licensed in home, full-day preschool in Belfair for children ages 2 to 6. We keep one small mixed-age group with two to three teachers, so ratios stay low and children work with familiar adults all year. Days follow a consistent rhythm and include outdoor time in every season. Our teaching draws on training in early childhood development, sensory processing, and individualized instruction, and we serve a range of learners. Subsidies accepted. We welcome you to visit before you enroll.
The Approach
Waldorf-inspired
Reverence for childhood, steady daily rhythms, imaginative play, and gentle conflict resolution. Children are not rushed through stages.
Nature-basedDaily outdoor time, natural materials, and a relationship with the land and weather. Located off East Rasor Road in a quiet, nature-connected setting.

Tuition
Tuition ranges from $650 monthly to $1300 monthly. This covers between 2 days per week and full time care respectively. Partial days are not offered. Subsidies are accepted.
HoursMossy Puddle is open to receive children as early as 6 am and ask that children be picked up by 5pm at the latest.
Food
Please pack a lunch for your child.
Academics
Academics are woven naturally into our days through play, stories, and hands-on experiences. We use Orton-Gillingham based phonics instruction to build strong early literacy skills, and our small group size allows lessons to be tailored to each child's level. With a background in mathematics, Jana also incorporates number sense, problem-solving, and critical thinking in meaningful, age-appropriate ways.
