Mossy Puddle is a Waldorf-inspired preschool and community gathering spot for children and families in Belfair. Sensory-rich, movement-filled, and unhurried. We specialize in supporting families with varying sensory needs.

Preschool
Mossy Puddle is a DCYF licensed in home center and nature-rich preschool for children ages 2–6 in Belfair. We offer full days with room to move, get muddy, rest, and belong — in a small, unhurried setting that meets each child where they are.
Saturday Sensory Story
Children and caregivers move through a sensory story together - loud and big at first, quiet and calm to end. Part play time, Part guided coregulation.
Sunday Playgroup
A relaxed playgroup for elementary and middle-school-aged kids using the Mossy Puddle space on Sundays.

Meet the Founder
Jana Jones, Owner
Jana is a former data analyst, longtime educator, and Belfair parent who saw that this community was missing a safe space for neurodivergent young children — so she built one. She believes every child deserves a place to play, rest, and learn at their own pace, and that when a child's needs are met, learning comes naturally. Every program at Mossy Puddle is built around that belief.
When she's not here, Jana can be found in the backcountry, teaching quilting classes, or spending time with her family.
