Why full day preschool?

Young children need unhurried time to settle, feel secure, and enter the deep, meaningful play where real learning happens. Short days often interrupt this process and create rushed transitions that make it harder for children to regulate and connect with others.

A full day rhythm allows children to relax, rest, and then engage in focused play and social learning. With time for movement, meals, quiet rest, and long stretches of uninterrupted play, children develop stronger relationships, steadier regulation, and a deeper sense of belonging.

Full day care supports the whole child and allows them to truly thrive at Mossy Puddle.

What does inclusion mean?

Inclusion means every child is valued, supported, and given what they need to thrive. We work to ensure each child feels secure, understood, and able to grow at their own pace.

At Mossy Puddle, experienced caregivers offer individualized support with patience and warmth. This includes sensory friendly spaces, communication support, and a flexible approach that honors each child’s unique way of learning and being.

Our approach is rooted in Waldorf inspired values that emphasize reverence for childhood, respect for each individual, and the cultivation of harmony within the group. Through gentle modeling, simple conflict resolution, and steady daily rhythms, we help children learn empathy, cooperation, and care for themselves and others.

Children of all abilities and neurotypes play and learn together in a community built on respect, kindness, and trust. Above all, inclusion means every child truly belongs, just as they are.

Why nature based?

Nature offers something no indoor space can. Outside, children can be more active, more loud, more expressive, and more in tune with their surroundings. The wind, rain, soil, and shifting light give them a full-body experience that supports regulation, confidence, and real exploration.

Daily outdoor time also helps them feel at home in nature. They start noticing small changes like new buds, weather shifts, or tracks in the mud. These details help them understand the world and their place in it.

Outdoors, children follow their curiosity. They dig, climb, balance, and problem solve. They learn to move with the rhythms of the land and care for the space around them.

At Mossy Puddle, we believe nature helps children grow into their truest selves. Rain or shine, our time outside gives them room to breathe, imagine, and belong.

Our program is currently home-based and located in a quiet, secluded residential area off the bumpy E Rasor Road.
