Social Media Volunteer: Shares the everyday magic of Mossy Puddle by photographing activities (following our photo permission list), writing short posts, and helping families and neighbors stay connected to what we’re growing.
Community Outreach Volunteer: Represents Mossy Puddle at local events, delivers flyers to businesses and libraries, and helps spread the word about our free parent classes and programs.
Cook Assistant: Helps our cook prepare healthy meals and snacks with washing, chopping, setting tables, and cleanup. A great fit for anyone who loves a busy, happy kitchen.
Child Care Volunteer: Works alongside our teachers in the classroom and outdoors. You might read stories, help with art and making days, join outside play, or simply be a calm, caring presence. You’re always supervised by staff.
Grandparent Reader: Visits regularly to read aloud, share songs, or teach a simple skill like sewing, gardening, or baking. Ideal for seniors who want meaningful time with little ones.
Garden & Grounds Helper: Tends our garden beds, plants, and outdoor play spaces so children have a beautiful place to dig, explore, and grow.
Fix-It Volunteer: Handles small repairs and projects such as building shelves, fixing toys, assembling furniture, and keeping our space safe and cozy.
Class & Event Helper: Sets up rooms, greets families, and helps with childcare during our free parent classes and community events.
Paid Positions
Cook: Plans and prepares nutritious, simple, from-scratch meals and snacks for children and staff. This role follows licensing and allergy guidelines, keeps the kitchen clean and organized, and works with volunteer kitchen helpers. A Washington food worker card is required.
Lead Teacher: Guides daily classroom life, plans and leads our Story, Making, and Outside Day rhythm, builds strong relationships with children and families, and supports assistant teachers and volunteers. Early childhood education experience is required.
Assistant Teacher: Partners with the Lead Teacher to care for and engage children through play, meals, rest, and outdoor time. This role helps keep the day calm, kind, and connected. A love of young children and a willingness to learn are required, and ECE coursework is a plus.
