We're Hiring: Assistant Teacher

Mossy Puddle Preschool is a licensed in-home full day preschool in Belfair, WA, built around outdoor time, sensory play, and small group learning. We're looking for a part-time Assistant Teacher to join us.

What you'll be doing

You'll be right alongside the lead teacher supporting daily routines, hands-on activities, and lots of outside time, rain or shine. Some days that means helping little hands with a nature scavenger hunt. Other days it means wiping up spilled water or reading the same picture book for the third time because someone asked. The work is hands-on and it moves fast, but it's the good kind of tired at the end of the day.

Day to day, you'll help with:

  • Supervising and engaging kids during outdoor and sensory activities

  • Supporting mealtimes, transitions, and daily routines

  • Setting up and cleaning up activity spaces

  • Basic care needs (helping with boots, snacks, the occasional accident)

  • Keeping things safe, calm, and fun

One shift each week is dedicated to a deeper clean of the space, toys, and materials, since keeping things fresh matters just as much as the fun stuff.

What we're looking for

  • Genuine warmth and patience with young kids

  • Comfortable being outside in all kinds of weather

  • Reliable and communicative, someone who shows up and follows through

  • Experience with children in some form

  • Willing to pass a Washington State background check

  • Eligible to work in the United States

  • Open to working toward WA state childcare credentials if you don't already have them

Schedule and pay

Part-time, 20 hours a week. Flexible Schedule. One weekend day is expected per month.

Pay is $20–25/hour, depending on experience.
