Why is only full day care offered?

Young children need a slow, spacious rhythm to settle in, feel secure, and regulate their bodies. When they have time to relax, they are able to engage in the deep, meaningful play where social learning happens. Short days tend to rush transitions and interrupt this process. A full day allows children to rest, recharge, and enter play calmly and confidently, which supports healthy relationships and steady growth.

Is partial week preschool an option?

Yes, students may attend 2-5 days a week.

What are your hours of operation?

Mossy Puddle is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. Families may drop off or pick up at any point during this window, with the understanding that children typically attend for 6 to 9 hours to support a healthy daily rhythm.

Extended care is available on a limited basis from 5:30 pm to 7:00 am for families who need additional coverage.

Are you licensed?

Yes, Mossy Puddle is a registered daycare provider in the state of Washington. You can find us listed on Child Care Aware. We maintain valid liability insurance, hold a current business license, and meet or exceed all state licensing standards to ensure a safe, high-quality environment for every child in our care.

What ages do you care for?

30 months to 6 years old, special cases will be considered for older children.

What is your staff-to-child ratio?

Mossy Puddle has a maximum ratio of 1 adult to 6 children. This low ratio allows us to provide more individualized attention, stronger relationships, and a calmer, more responsive environment where every child feels seen and supported.

Are parents allowed to visit during the day?

Of course, our open door policy welcomes any guardian at any time of the school day. We ask that you respect the daily rhythm/ schedule though to minimize disruptions.
