Parent Involvement

Expectations

Parents are expected to model calm and respectful behavior, contribute to the cooperative by volunteering where needed, and follow all safety standards that help protect the children and the community. By participating in the shared work of the co-op and supporting the program’s structure, families help create a positive, collaborative environment where learning and relationships can flourish.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • This leader guides an age appropriate group using the corresponding level from Pandia Press. The study guide and required spine texts will be provided.

Leaders should review the materials in advance and use them to shape discussions, activities, and pacing for their group. During the first few weeks, breakout leaders will work closely with Mossy Puddle to establish a healthy rhythm, clear expectations, and a consistent structure for breakout time.

  • This leader designs and facilitates an optional enrichment class for students. This is an opportunity for parents to share a personal interest, skill, or area of expertise with the group.

Leaders may choose the topic and plan the activities for their class. Enrichment blocks are a great way to introduce hobbies, creative skills, practical knowledge, or subjects that families would like to see included in the co-op experience.

  • Support leaders help the day run smoothly by assisting with set up and clean up, helping redirect students when needed, and stepping in wherever an extra set of hands is helpful. These are the “see a need, fill a need” people who help maintain the flow of the co-op and support breakout leaders, activities, and transitions throughout the day.
