Hi. I’m Jana, owner at Mossy Puddle.

Jana Jones is the founder of Mossy Puddle, a small nature-based preschool in Belfair, Washington focused on inclusive, relationship-centered early childhood education.

With a background in mathematics and data analytics, Jana spent years working in the corporate world before stepping away to create the kind of learning environment she wanted for her own children. Her work is grounded in the belief that children learn best through meaningful relationships, time outdoors, creativity, movement, and a steady daily rhythm.

At Mossy Puddle, she has built a program that blends gentle academic foundations with long stretches of play, storytelling, nature exploration, art, music, and practical life skills. The small group setting allows children to be truly known and supported as individuals.

Jana is licensed through DCYF as an in-home childcare provider.

Outside of her work with children, Jana enjoys sewing, backpacking throughout the Pacific Northwest, and building a life closely connected to nature and community.
