Jana is passionate about creating a nurturing, respectful environment where children feel valued and heard. She believes that kindness fosters kindness and is dedicated to preserving children’s autonomy through gentle, compassionate care. When she’s not teaching, she enjoys sewing, baking, and spending time outdoors, embracing the same slow, intentional rhythms she brings to Mossy Puddle.

Hannah brings warmth, patience, and deep respect to every child in her care. A former nanny with a passion for gentle, child-led learning, she sees children as capable, independent, and worthy of respect. Outside the classroom, she enjoys mending, foraging for mushrooms, and making music, embracing the beauty of slow, intentional living.

Sally is a licensed elementary teacher and former forest school educator who believes in giving children the space to flourish. She assumes competence and capability in every child, fostering independence and confidence through gentle guidance. A lover of nature, she brings experience and fosters an environment where children’s ideas, questions, and perspectives are valued, encouraging them to take risks, problem-solve, and engage deeply with nature.

MUSIC TEACHER

Atticus, a trained musician with a degree in music performance, brings joy, creativity, and mindfulness to every lesson. They create a nurturing space where children feel safe to explore music, express emotions, and develop confidence. With a gentle and intentional approach, Atticus ensures each child feels seen, heard, and supported in their musical journey.

BACK UP SUBSTITUTE
Jillian, a registered nurse, serves as our trusted backup substitute teacher and is always just a call away. With her medical expertise and deep understanding of child health and safety, she provides an extra layer of care and reassurance for our families. Whether stepping in as a substitute or offering guidance when health concerns arise, Jillian helps ensure that Mossy Puddle remains a safe, nurturing environment for all children.

Accounting
Derek, our numbers guy, ensures smooth financial operations while also serving as a licensed, trained, and background-checked backup substitute. Married to Jana, he brings professionalism and adaptability to both the office and the classroom, making him a valued member of our team.
